Windsurfing Event safety check-out / check-in board

At the recent Eastbourne Windsurfing Fun Slalom event we trialled a check-out / check-in board system for managing safety. I first encountered this at the National Slalom event in Dunedin and it worked well, so I decided to try it here. It worked well so here's the details on how to make and use your own (total cost $6)

WWA Wairarapa Weekend

Time for the annual Wairarapa Weekend coming up on 20-21 April. From mid-morning Saturday we'll be based at Lake Ferry - a great freeride, speed and freestyle spot, plus there are the numerous Cape Palliser breaks for wavesailing surf & SUP nearby too.
If you are keen, please book your own accommodation at the Lake Ferry Hotel, or at the camping ground. We'll have a few drinks and a meal at the Hotel on Saturday night so hope you can join us for that, it should be good fun.

Inaugural AWA Camping Weekend

The inaugural AWA camping weekend has been scheduled for 15,16 and 17 March at http://mangawhaiheadsholidaypark.co.nz/.

This is a very family oriented event with supping, windsurfing, surfing and maybe some racing if the wind cooperates. Mangawhai is only 1:15 hrs away from Auckland and has harbour and ocean side sailing catering for all levels of sailing. We will have some demo's and clinics and there is plenty to do to keep the kids entertained.

2013 Womens Camp at Lake Clearwater,

Well the wind may not have blown much.. but that didn't stop the women who attended the annual womens camp at Clearwater, near Christchurch from having fun.

On Friday night a couple of the early arrivals ventured out on their long boards and had a relaxing unwind from the trip. Then on Saturday
we were met by a hot calm day... plenty of time for catch ups.

Windsurfing and kiting social get-together. Repeat of a great event. Simple across the lake and back race series for Windsurfers and Kiters. Think about this as an option for Xmas/New Year, there's always lots of windsurfers and kiters camping there. Very social.
Possibility of and Upwind/Downwind race as well on New Years eve.

"After the fun and success of last year's windsurf event at Fergy Park, Tauranga we are doing it all again as you have hopefully already seen and heard.

Last year's format of easy, simple and short across the wind races went down well so the plan is to keep the same format, here are the details, please pass on and help spread the word, book it in your diary and updated info will come out as we get closer.

When : Weekend 22nd 23rd September
1030 Briefing and top tips to see you flying past others.
1st Race starts at 12pm.

Tickets $15/head or $20 at door (but only if not sold out)
Two confirmed 'movies' will be 'Oxbows-Walls of Perception' and 'Minds Wide Open' (in that order). If time permits we could also play a shorter Polakow clip in Gnaraloo.
Emphasise need for members to buy tickets early (a) to confirm numbers to recover costs (b) to avoid missing out!
Drinks and food available at the theatre.
